MATERIA MEDICA

To be invited by a library to create a body of work and receive an artist residency to further explore the subject using rare collections is an amazing opportunity and privilege.  Materia Medica is an exhibition of work that comes from my year researching and exploring Montreal's medical past using artifacts, X rays and an early photographic process called cyanotype.  On exhibition at the Osler Library of the History of Medicine at McGill University, visitors are also invited to see the Osler Room and its collection of rare books and medical artifacts.  The library is open from Monday to Friday, 9 - 5 p.m. The Materia Medica exhibition continues until May 4, 2018.

The support of the McGill University Osler Library of the History of Medicine, the Michele Larose - Osler Library Artist-in-Residence Programme and the Canada Council for the Arts is greatly appreciated.
